Leon's first authored publication in Neurotrauma Reports was picked up and featured by UPMC press. In this groundbreaking work, Leon explores the intersection of Resilience, Health Equity and Concussion, and reports that minority women with greater resilience experience fewer long-term symptoms after a concussion, particularly Black women. No significant association was seen for white women, suggesting that there is less of a role for resilience during recovery in this group, given the lower barriers to post-concussion care they experience.
